the hat

breezy, poignant, street-smart, pretty out there, but damn difficult to track down on the web. that’s ‘the hat’ for you.

first saw the hat without one of it’s best components – a drummer that can compliment the spoken word raps with… spoken word scratching. quite a feat to behold, but i’d recommend seeing them soon, cause it looks like it plays havoc with his vocal chords.

from the heart of brighton comes a loungey jazzy feel with twisted stories delivered fast and deadpan over the top. a roald dahl take on screaming plants is a personal fave.

anyway, on the chance that for some strange reason you’re not going to see them live, check "the hat" out on myspace.
