this week we have sam from ‘she likes parties’:
Sam was a difficult child, abstract and mild but always knew he was never destined to become the Prince of Wales. So instead he sat in his room devouring fragments of fiction from the blank generation and deciding that modern life was indeed, rubbish. He knew those teenage dreams were hard to beat so he followed them down to brighton to study business. Soon he realised his life was very boring as an office clerk and donned his rasperry beret and decided to turn up repeatedly to other peoples nights and walk like an egyptian until they noticed him. After annoying them to such a degree that they had no other option people began to let him DJ, then promote and eventually co-run She Likes Parties. All that is left now is to say to hell with poverty and take over the world.
Sam has played with the likes of LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, The Maccabees, Arctic Monkeys, Cut Copy, Jamie T and pretty much every other band passing through this town. He has written future music columns for Juice magazine, worked at Rounder Records and managed up and coming local superstars Peggy Sue and the Pirates and The Great Danger. There is lots more to come.
Expect:- Richard Hell, Television, The Velvelettes, Iggy Pop, Blur, Prince, Gloria Jones, Mclusky, Bloc Party, Kinks, Love, James Chance and The Bangles.
