Coconut Tapioca
July 13th, 2007
is the bomb. i’ve rediscovered quite a few things recently. including the smashing pumpkins who pop up on my mix. other than that its a mash-mish of tasty treats from brighton and whatever gets thrown within earshot. i was raging mad about being cut off from pandora last month because i don’t live in the […]

Rob Drysdale (Stick It On)
July 11th, 2007
What’s that? A concept driven music night where people play music they really really like? It will never catch on. essaouira gnaoua festival - the recordings
July 2nd, 2007
we have a 2-hour sample from the set at the al khaima restaurant for the gnaoua festival, essaouira 2007.
there’s tracks from both dj ohm and kiterae - definitely more angled towards upfront techno/house. it was good fun playing this gig - hopefully this is clear in the recordings.

it looks like it’s not only mary-ann hobbs who’s pushing dubstep at the beeb. one of the genre’s top stars turns in a stellar mix featuring more than one or two of his own numbers.

gnaoua festival, essaouira
July 1st, 2007
so, it finally went off. after spending a morning figuring out how to get x2 dj set ups (vinyl + cd decks) into the heart of the medina, we finally got to play. a full 7 hours in the end. it took about that long to get the crowd going (maybe something to do with […]
