Northern Lights VIII – Jan Johansson
When Swedish jazz pianist Jan Johansson died in a car accident on 9 November 1968, at the mere age of 37, he had already released a number of albums with his own unique sound combining traditional folk songs and jazz. Some probably call his music depressing – I’d say it’s melancholic but relaxing, and very beautiful. Here’s a short introduction to his work.
