The Bomb Squad now droppng dubstep!

I guess it does make sense, but not exactly what I expected. The Bomb Squad, the original production team behind Public Enemy’s seminal output in the late-eighties showed up in Dublin and rocked the bass bins with an hour-long dubstep mix. Vue Weekly does a great job of explaining the link between early hip hop and current dubstep production.

Kind of spooky vocal at the beginning but sits nicely in this deeep mix. Featuring lesser-known artists such as Deflax and Vibescommandah. Plenty of space in the mid-range lets the bass run riot throughout this mix.

These guys normally spit out hip hop, but on this ‘sidebar’ to the Soultronica Saga they jump out into the world of dubstep. If you are new to the genre, this is a great introduction (not least because upfront they warn you about one very important ingredient: a good sound system or pair of headphones).
