Given that US Thanksgiving has just passed, I might as well go ahead and say it: I give thanks for all these artists plugging away in their respective genres.

Hope you enjoy.

<itunes:summary>here it is. after some time in the making and plenty of tweaking. some old, some new, some newly discovered.

Shiela Chandra – Ever So Lonely
‘the ocean refuses no river’ love the line, not quite sure what the hell sheila chandra is on about. too much time on the ashram munching space cakes, if you ask me.

Rockabye Baby – All Apologies
apparently, according to spin, it’s 20 years since nirvana’s nevermind burst on the scene making grunge accessible to accountants everywhere. with the rockabye project those accountants now have suitable ammunition to send their grand kids to slumberland.

Dan Deacon – Snookered
dan deacon set himself out on a trajectory which severly limited his chances of appearing on ‘idol’ (american or otherwise). thankfully the good ship deacon still sails close to that arc.

Santana – Jingo
santana hits up jingo. a more tribal rendetion regales the quaint new-colonial ‘the endless summer‘ documentary.

Tyler the Creator – Radicalz (NewFuture Remix)
jazz, jazz, jazz. gutteral sax strapped to a military beat as amp live takes on tyler.

The Smoking Time Jazz Club – Shake That Thing
next up new orlean’s smoking time jazz band school us on shaking our thing… lessons take place regularly on street corners across nola.

George Krantz – Din Daa Daa
din daa daa… one of the weirder things to come out of the disco era. man vs drum kit. recently graced the dancefloor at oakland’s layover.

Hollywood Holt, Million $ Mano – The Show
so, who want’s to see the show?

The Uma Uma Truth List – PEACE!!!
shouty, gangly.

Borgore – Sunsets (featuring Diplo)
Very deceptive: from shoegaze to spaz-out. some could say grating. i say addictive.

The Mountain Goats – Damn These Vampires
don’t let this one get in your head. featured on the excellent Merge sampler available from those nice folk at Amazon.

Memoryhouse – Lady Troisieme
delicate ambient balladry.

Another Green World – Another Green Waltz
i never got to whirl-y-gig. this strange slab of woodwind makes me want to chalk this up on my list of regrets.</itunes:summary>

Favourite Jamie: Lidell. Is this guy getting the recognition he deserves or have I just not been paying attention (more likely)?

Favourite track: Burial's version of Wayfaring stranger is strangely addictive.

Favourite album: James Blake. Funnily enough I don't listen to it that much. It's almost like a painting in a museum; I admire it but that doesn't mean I always enjoy it. I bet it sounds amazing live though.

Tracks:

	Street - Jamie Woon
Your sweet boom - Jamie Lidell
	Far nearer - Jamie XX
Air and lack thereof - James Blake
Night air (Ramadanman refix) - Jamie Woon
NY is killing me - Jamie XX and Gil Scott-Heron
Multiply (Herbert's Hoedown Bump) - Jamie Lidell
Multiply (Hot Chip mix) - Jamie Lidell
The City (Four Tet mix) - Jamie Lidell
Wayfaring stranger (Burial remix) - Jamie Woon
The Wilhelm scream - James Blake
	Compass - Jamie Lidell
She needs me - Jamie Lidell

<itunes:subtitle>Quite a year. At least that's the feeling from behind this laptop. Nine+ months of expectation led to the fruitful delivery of what is now a wonderful smiling bundle of puke and poop. I can safely say I'm having a time like no other in my life. - </itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>Quite a year. At least that's the feeling from behind this laptop. Nine+ months of expectation led to the fruitful delivery of what is now a wonderful smiling bundle of puke and poop. I can safely say I'm having a time like no other in my life.

Other new adventures this year include a foray into the world of jazz following a trip to New Orleans. One rambunctious night turned us on to the new interpretations of an old time style courtesy of the Smoking Time Jazz Club and I've since been digging into the old style proper courtesy of Coleman Hawkins, amongst others.

I say all this, but this mixtape installment goes in a wholly different direction dipping more into the world of indie-inflected dance music. I understand that this is the festive time of the year, but this one is more winter than Christmas. And it's not a best of 2010 compilation: that would be a major disservice to the bunch of tracks I received in December which I still haven't worked my way through.

Kicking things off with the ultra-ambient tinkles of George Lenton, the mix moves into the more muscular direction of Kings of Tomorrow before dropping down a notch with White Hinderland's rendition of Timberlake's 'My Love'.

Clicks and Whistles is an American outfit indicative of the new sounds coming out of the US. As you can probably tell by the occurrence of two tracks in this mix, I'm a fan of their Idiothouse EP.

Other notable mentions are Peo de Pitte's reworking of Telepopmusik's Breathe (I'd urge you to check out the full version which I didn't have the courage to feature here) and the exciting direction Daft Punk have taken the movie soundtrack genre.

The skinny

Sine A (here here) - George Lenton

Feyd Rautha Dark Heart - Grimes

Yorokobu (Craig Heneveld Remix) - The Malah

Ego Trip - Kings Of Tomorrow

My Love - White Hinterland

Hello - Clicks & Whistles

Twilight Galaxy (JSaxton's 2552 Remix) - Metric

Give It Up - Diamond Rings

Breathe (Peo de Pitte remix) - Telepopmusik

Raw Passion - Clicks & Whistles

Passion - Nightmares On Wax

Solar Sailer (Basic Slack Edit) - Daft Punk</itunes:summary>

On behalf of Cybersanta, here is a collection of Norwegian nutter Bjørn Torske's own brand of dub-house-electronica, from the last 10 years, niftily compiled by Paris DJs (http://www.parisdjs.com). Ho ho.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>and so it begins. a right of passage. join the club. the 9th full moon has passed. in folklore it unleashes the sunshine. sunshine is coming.

starting off with a sprinkling of brazilian angel dust in the shape of murucututu (thanks, louise!) before vitalic's poisin lips tears in. sorry about that. felt like getting this show on the road.

there's a minor detour through rusko's wonky dubstep, randanman's old school take, and some old-school proper in the shape of lfo. i drift towards the end and can't help rounding off with the 'last song of the night' selection. in some ways it's a tip of the hat towards doc, abby; 10 10 10. in another way, i'm coming clean about my musical preferences in my formative years.

right, i now have another show to get on the road.
