Nitemares
So the original version of Hell Cab hits later today (Tuesday) on TEH Beatport. As noted before, it will be part of a Horror Themed E.P. with Boy 8 Bit and Acid Jacks. And will be releasing on Acid Jack's label, Idiot House.
I've decided to drop a new DJ Mix to go with the release hand in hand. It showcases the darker side of things that is Lazaro Casanova's "Nitemares" project.

All You Need...

I have been getting good response over the Radiohead remix video I posted earlier. I also got good response on the Alice video post. Which is leading me to believe, you guys like watching random videos as much as I do. Shit even my friend's mom liked the Minilogue video post. So from now on, any random good (see subjective) videos I may come across, I'll make sure to bookmark for all you Shot Callers out there.
This next video is entitled, All You Need... and it comes to you courtesy of Jaye Bhee. The video is accurately described as:
A micro-musical about the one true universal necessity in life, told in a cryptic seemingly nonsensical narrative...

Music:I recently finished the first single to a side project I am doing under the Casanova Nitemare's tag. The project is solely based on old horror film samples. It's a lot darker than anything you might have heard me do before. The first original track is entitled, Hell Cab, which is named after the first PC game I ever played (pictured above).
Hell Cab, originally started as a Feist bootleg of her song, Sea Lion Woman. After sending it to a few friends, most of the feedback I got suggested I scrap the vocals and make an original track out of it. And so I did. Hell Cab will release on Acid Jack's label, Idiot House on Beatport before Halloween. It will be part of a Horror themed EP and will feature tracks from Boy 8 Bit and Acid Jacks too.
So what about the Feist vocal version? Well, when I played last week in LA, I sat down with Alicia from Discodust for an interview. I wanted to give them some new material with the interview and so I gave them the "Feisty" version of Hell Cab.

In a ever going effort to keep up with these frightful times, I have decided to an implement a "cooler" media player on Shot Callin' (yes, I just linked myself. wanna fight about it?). You may be asking yourself in a panic right now, "well shit, shot callin...how does this affect me, Joe the plumber." Well, Joe (the plumber), I'm looking at you. Now my friend, Joe, in my new media player plan you will notice a little play icon next to the song's link, where as before it was the little play icon was under the link. Some may call me crazy because essentially I'm taking a hatchet to this upgrade and yes I'll admit its true (not the crazy part, I hope) but my theory is lets use a hatchet first then we can go in with a scalpel. If only every problem in the world was approached with this solution. My friends...you will also see an added benefit of a player coming out of the left side of the screen. These maverick-type players will have playlists so that you can easily listen to the other content on Shot Callin' (yes second link to myself, I HAVE NO SHAME). This is truly a maverick media player.

Joris Voorn kills it on this Sebo K remix. Adding his subtle touch of techno to K's signature house sound. Voorn's been on a hot streak lately having one of the better tracks on Cocoon Compilation H, Dark Side of the Moog. Also be sure to check out Sebo K's, Diva, on TEH beatp0rt for some good house music.
Far out is part of a digital only release and also includes remixes by Dj Sneak and Agnes. Again...on TEH bearport.

Remember a while back when Radiohead hosted a remix contest for Nude? Yes? Yes. We can easily recall the overwhelming number of submissions they received. While some submissions completely ignored the original time signature and aimed to bring Radiohead to dancefloors, others...well, really took into consideration who Radiohead fans really are. Some understood that a Radiohead song cannot just be simply put into a generic formula because in the end Radiohead fans really just yearn for something completely fucking different.
Here is where James Houston comes in. For his final graphic design project (at Glasgow School of Art) took a bunch of computer gear to recreate Nude in it's own truly unique way.

This next one I spotted on the Ozgur Can Beatport top 10. Perc has released plenty of production under his own imprint, Perc Trax as well as countless others including Kompakt Extra and Drumcode. Bosworth, was recently featured in Nick Warren's, Lima Global Underground 35. I have yet to hear the compilation but I believe it comes with a mixed and unmixed portions. The almost disco bassline at the break with the bells and strings is just great.

And I sat in seat 20A, also referred to as a bulkhead row. And I was reading Rolling Stone magazine, it had a political cartoon of McCain driving a propeller war plane while wielding a machine gun and in bold lettering it read "Make Believe Maverick." And to my right sat a 45 year old milf. But damn did she look good for 45. I was still drunk from last night, which meant I was still wearing my polarized blue blockers to cover my bagged out blood shot eyes. She broke the ice and told me how her earlier flight was delayed and she was able to make it on this flight barely and luckily on standby. She had a nice voice. She told me there was a girl on standby too, about 21 years old that was beautiful and looked like Eva Mendez, and we would make a cute couple. I then clumsily said, "oh well I better get up and go look for her." But she said, "No, I don't think she made it, she was number 37 on the standby list."

Music:

Silently, is one of those songs with a highly infectious vocal complimented by a near perfect percussive loop that could easily go on for 20 minutes without the slightest bit of annoyance. It also reminds me a bit of The Knife. But Clara Moto's, Silently, is a bit easier on the ears that most Knife songs.

So, this next drink is for her and so is the following. Actually, the rest of the drinks tonight and tomorrow and the day after will be for her. From this moment on I cease to drink for my selfish needs. Wait, let me fix myself another drink.
We're really all just nice people inside who get caught up in the wrong things. But, honestly to the truth monster, I meant well.
Don't you just hate it when bottoms are up and the ice hits your face? It's just a little simple twist of fate really. Sooner than later, you decide it's time to quit being empty and that's when you get yourself another drink.

Another one bites the dust. No, I'm not talking about another U.S. bank going down under but we can discuss that later. Sure to be everyone's dream wife, Scarlett Johansson has now left the playing field and is no longer on the market. Fear not, this just means I will now focus more of my attention towards Natalie Portman.

Music:
Next track reminds me a bit of a Style of Eye track but it is by Mark Mendes hailing from Toronto. Mendes has seen releases under the Mark Knight's, infamous Toolroom imprint. I personally like how the synths remain closed for most of the track, very wise usage so when they finally open it easily captures the listeners attention.
